Depressing but I guess good?!

So followers are lacking...pathetic following I know, my wife is following probably just out of pitty. However, I'd like to think that perhaps there are numerous people out there following privately (told you I try to find the silver lining....NO MATTER HOW NAIVE IT MAY BE!).

I thought today I'd bring you some OUCH, fail, Oh Sh*t pics that have always been my favorites, a good laugh is always needed...and yes you can laugh at these. These people didn't die from their injuries SO I REPEAT IT IS NOT WRONG TO LAUGH AT THESE...atleast not enough to worry about it!

First category Sports:

Ah...the moments right before everything goes wrong...

Here allow me to break my fall by pushing on your face...also you think the woman in the air has that Oh Sheet face, imagine what 0's face is saying right now!

Thought going through his head right now..."I don't know how to ride a unicycle!!!!!!"
(seriously this one just hurts looking at it!)

Holy cow...I watched this game on TV and nearly threw up watching it.

"So I will lose fight if I do...THIS?"

In about half a second both these guys will no longer like the other!

Funny last time I checked it was the US's economy in the crapper...this picture perhaps symbolizes what the average citizen means to the USA politicians.

MORE TO COME EVERY FRIDAY.....AND MAN DO WE HAVE SOME GREAT ONES!

Boom Shacka Lacka Shacka Lacka!

My title honestly has absolutely nothing to do with my post, I've just always wanted to make it a title for awhile now! It's pretty eye catching don't you think?

So I had one of those old person moments last night! I used to always find it odd how on my way home I always pass numerous houses with people (usually of the older generations) just sitting on a lawn chair by their open garage door. No clue what they're doing, I guess just chilln' and thinkn'.

Well did some chilln' and thinkn' last night of my own. I push mowed our back yard (rider has a small issue with mower deck) so once I was done with that I felt the need to do what every man does after getting all sweaty mowing.....drink an ice cold beer. So minutes later I found my self setting in my garage, music playing and a beer in my hand just chilln' and thinkn'. It was like I had no control over my thoughts as they went seemingly through my whole life. I remembered a night sneaking out and walking about 2 miles to a neighbors where me and a neighbor girl tepeed our mutual friend's house just for kicks...or the time I locked my keys in my car at school, but not to be easy I'd left them in the ignition with THE CAR RUNNING!!!!!! I also went back to the day my nephew was born and the first time I held him, thinking forward to when I hold my first child (no we're not pregnant). I remembered hitting a grandslam to win the game when I was 10...being the only pitcher in the USA to beat Chet Wagner in Seniors. I can remember all the pain from past hurts, joys of past accomplishments and the excitement of future events. I could see clear as day Lisa on the first day we met, having no clue she would become my wife! I remembered our wedding day, honeymoon, first house.....

Memory lane is just crazy...it can suck you into a trance where you seemingly remember things so vividly you can almost hear, feel and taste them!

Some people get bitter or sad when they think of their past. Either because it is full of hurt and sorrow or because they simply want to go back to the good days....I'm different. Yeah I've had hurt, perhaps some of the worst, but I've also had amazing moments as well. It was an awesome experience to kinda relive them all and see how they led me to now. They make me realize all of it has been a piece in this jigsaw puzzle called Ty's life. Without one it would be incomplete...

Moments like that are priceless, so the next time you have a moment, pop open a cold one or pour yourself a glass of wine and find a spot to just sit. And when someone asks what you're doin you can say, just chilln' and thinkn'....remeniscn'

Keep on keepin on folks!

Crazy Amazing Love!

So last night was our first real bible study with our newly formed small group of couples...of which Lisa and I are the only ones to not have little ones, but that's 100% fine for right now says Lisa (which I'm fine with too). Any hooooooo, it was an amazing night as we all opened up just a touch to eachother about things we struggle with or fears each of us may hold. It's just truly amazing to think how blest I am, God has given me an absolutely amazing wife, loving family, friends and now some of my friends are only going to get to be closer friends!

Life is just great right now to be honest!

God gave Lisa a teaching job after being able to be an aid for a year, as God blessed me with a great job with benefits...even if not one using my education degree. God always seems to know more for some reason. He gave me a job I enjoy, Lisa the ability to work in the schools till a full time job opened up and
BAM!

It worked out like it was designed...which it probably was! All the fear, anxiety and worry filled nights I had over wanting her to get a teaching job are now over, and now I just have to be patient as I await to see what God wants to do with my life. Applications are still out in the schools, and will be updated this fall. I just need to embrace what God gives me, and make the most of any situation because if there's one thing he keeps showing me time and time again is the silver lining is there, but sometimes you have to put your faith in Him and be patient to be able to see it.

God, thank you for Lisa's job!

There is no greater gift I'll recieve for quite some time than the joy it brought me when I learned she was officially a teacher! If you find it in your design for me, allow me to one day teach as well, but if your will is different for me allow me the ability to embrace whatever it may be and run with it!

Keep on keepin on folks...and don't forget to embrace what you've been given for in a twinkle of an eye the silver linings caused by it can be overlooked.

Tragedy...funny how it unites

So like I told you I'm trying to see the silver lining in everything now a days...hence the whole idea of this blog. However, at times it's hard to see that lining...example:

The tragic stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair, was both unexpected and extremely scary! By now some of you may have already seen the videos online of it, and winced as you watched the stage platform plummet onto the ground...where people were trying to flee before being struck. Sadly, not all of them made. 4 were dead on the scene and 1 died shortly after at a hospital. Numerous people are scattered around in the local Indianapolis hospitals trying to fight for their lives. I'd like to bring attention to one of these as Lisa and I have a connection with one. Caitlyn (last name left off for privacy) was one of Lisa's best friends when I met her. She was one of those friend's Lisa wanted to approve of me and I still remember the night I met her. Sadly I read on a local news station's website that she is in critical condition with fractured skull, spine, eye socket and a broken collar bone. We are both praying for you Caitlyn! Hang in there girl!

I know it may seem tragedy is something a silver lining just doesn't accompany...oh quite the contrary. If you've watched the video you are probably wondering how only 5 lives have been taken (as of now)?! Surely more should have perished...that in and of itself is a silver lining!

However, if you watch some of the videos posted another amazing thing happens, which we must rejoice in. We live in a culture run by the idea get what's yours while it's good for the taking...

That my friends isn't always the case, that look out for only your self attitude was lost by many as instead of fleaing from the stage falling can be seen pushing their way towards the injured trying to do whatever they possibly can! That my friend's is humanity, that is love, that is compassion and if you ask me that is God at work.

Pray for those involved in this tragedy! Praise those who answered the call to help...and may we all learn to do the same if given the chance.

Cruel Irony?!

So…I missed a day of blogging yesterday, but let’s make up for it with a few things that fall into the categories:

HILARIOUS things at my work:

1.       The fact that I got a coworker so worked up about whether cheerleading is a sport or not that she got another co-worker to tell me to stop because she was on the phone…hilarious that one I got “in trouble” not the one arguing and the frustration the “cheerleading is a sport” advocate had during the coworker’s phone conversation. We never did agree on the cheerleading thing, but here’s the summary of it: I believe to be a sport competition is required, so cheerleading can fit but not just recreational style cheerleading…co-worker spouted off how many injuries her daughter has received from cheerleading and how she’s never seen a football player lift another one over their heads…I’ll let you know when I make sense how either statement points towards it being a sport; I twisted my ankle weed eating the other day…perhaps I’m the next weed-eater Olympian.

2.       How I try to avoid the counter at work when someone is standing there and another co-worker  is ignoring them. I’ll take the long way around the back of the cubicles to cross by the counter while holding a paper and pretending to be intensely reading it and unaware of them.

3.       How no matter how many people have used the copy machine…it seems to always run out of paper on my watch…

4.       How one employee can answer the phone, talk with the taxpayer for over a half hour and still provide no real information to the individual, put them on hold, ask someone and still not transfer any really useful information to the individual on the other line. (I’ve witnessed over 40 minutes conversations as I set in my cubicle where this employee who has mastered the concept of running in circles)!!

5.       The fact that sometimes I put both my headphones in at my desk but have no music playing…hilarious how many times people will call my name before they’re like “oh didn’t realize he had his headphones in…” Then come over to me. (don’t do this a lot because don’t want bosses to really think I’m blocking out the phone calls or counter)

6.       How someone complains their vacant land is assessed to high and then this conversation occurring:

Me: “Okay sir I’d gladly purchase your 80 acres for what we have it assessed at, just let me go get the money out of the bank.”
Taxpayer: “You crazy! I’d never accept that little for my farmlands and woods!”

Me: “Okay, I’m sorry I thought you said we had it assessed too high, my mistake. You can appeal your land value if you wish, and doing so is quite simple.”
Taxpayer: “I’ll think about it, thanks.”
Me: I hang up laughing, and bummed I didn’t just purchase 80 acres for dirt cheap!

Tuesday Tyrant-Bad Drivers

So from now on, or until I decide to change my mind (more than likely), Tuesdays will be my tyrant day. Basically I’ll share with you a pet-peeve of mine that either recently happened or I’ve always held. They'll be honest, funny, stupid and sometimes just plain hilarious.

First up is my biggest pet-peeve… Stupid Drivers.

Stupid Drivers are to blame for easily 80% of the world problems…think about it. They put us in severely bad moods entering our daily grind or upon coming home from work. The frustration they create cause us to slip into less than desirable moods, makes us flip the “I’m pissed” switch faster than anything else in our day to day life and whether we like it or not ARE ALWAYS GOING TO EXIST; Because as long as we have cars, there are going to be idiots to fill them!!

Now this pet peeve of mine can be broken up into 3 basic categories.

#1 Parking abilities

#2 Driving Abilities

#3 Comprehension of basic road rules

#3 is what I’m going to focus on for this blog because I recently experienced someone who obviously viewed themselves well above the established rules of the road which are both common sense and enforceable laws as well. On our recent trip to Ludington we encountered quite a bit of road construction and accident back-ups on our way home…the perfect scenario for, let’s name him Dee P. Scheet, to come out of the woodwork.
We’re on our way home when some road construction signs start popping up, shortly followed by these guys:
So what do I do, and COUNTLESS OTHER PEOPLE? We amazing get over in the right lane, brain surgery genius I know right?!?! Well sure enough you have your idiot drivers led by Mr. D. P. Scheet zooming up the left side trying to gain a few spots…
BUT HE DOESN’T GET OVER…
He apparently was going to wait till the last second for a spot to open up but everyone else that had tried to let him in before were now blocking him off…so what does he do? Put his right turn signal on, come to a stop and wait for someone to be nice to him although he doesn’t deserve it?
 NOPE!
This idiot floors it when he notices a RV not accelerating quite as fast as the car infront of it and then swerves over in front of it, immediately causing all of us behind the RV to have to break as the RV does…
I say some things about the guy but then forget about it as we truck on down the road further…only to soon see as I come over a big hill our buddies:
But also this guy this time about a mile up the road:
So again we all decide to start getting over in the right lane as quick as possible…but you guessed it! Mr. D. P. Scheet (whom I’d passed between construction sites) is now moving slowly up the left side in my rear view mirror. He slowly putts on by cars getting probably about ¼ a mile ahead of me and is slowly getting very close to the flashing arrow and where the construction cones start cutting the left lane over into the right one. At this point I slow way down and motion for him to come over (although I'm quite furious at him by now for idiocy)…..
HE DOES NOTHING!
The motorcycle ahead of me even tries to let him in, nothing! So we both speed up to close the gap and are refusing him in now as were about 200 yards from the sign. At about 20 yards I’m fairly certain he’s gotta stop right?
NOPE! This idiot is now at the sign but not stopping…he’s just forcing his way over into my lane…it was either be hit or run off the road!
I realize the silver lining may be hard to see in this rant…but…just wait I’ll  think of one J. Um…oh got it. My good wife and I completely fought about how upset I got, and I did in fact learn that the degree to which I got mad at this individual was quite unnecessary. I hope I do better next time
 I really do babe.
I hope I manage to block the guy from getting in front of us and letting him win… then I won't be upset I'll be happy! HAHA J!!!

Back to Reality

So the trip is done and work is all too much of a reality today. While it was a short trip, it was a great trip! During the trip many key things happened to make it an amazing trip:

#1 My toes were in the water

#2 My “butt” was in the sand

#3 I had some cold beers in my hand

#4 Had some absolutely amazing food!

#5 Never a drop of rain!

#6 Toured some great shops

#7 Sunsets were just shy of perfect

#8 Saw/Experienced a pre-1900 settlement museum

#9 Our room had ice A/C! (you all know how great that is!)

#10 I got to spend the no worry weekend with my WIFEY!!

While we didn’t necessarily have the easiest coming and going (accidents littered 31 in MI) it was a great trip! We now must face the work week, and I did say WE! Starting today Lisa is in full “Get My Classroom Ready” mode, which means I’m not the only one off to work now. I’m so happy for Lisa and can’t wait to get my ear talked off about how Johnny and Sarah fought all day about who’s  really the line leader for the week or how Lisa totally forgot about the kids in Gym… ah great times ahead of me J!

Keep on Keepin’ On!
